Hee-Haw!

     On Monday one of my friends, Austyn asked if I'd like to join her and her two adorable boys on the farm... Hee-Haw Farms that is. I had never been there before and we had a lot of fun! Cannon is still too young to enjoy some of the things I take him too (I tend to be a little too adventurous for my 9 month old!) but he still liked playing outside and he loved watching Austyn's boys. There were lots of cute baby animals and I tried to take cute pictures, but it was very difficult holding Cannon, getting the animals to stay in one spot, and trying to be a photographer especially when some of the goats would jump up on people. Most of the time Cannon was kicking his legs and making a funny sound. I couldn't quite tell if he was nervous, or excited, but we're going to pretend that it was excitement! Here are some poor quality photography skills of Cannon and the animals...

These baby pigs were actually quite sheepish... They wouldn't let anyone get near them because they were scared. So this is as good as it got!

St George trip

       Over the weekend our little family took a road trip to St George. It was a much needed vacation! At this time every year after a long winter, when it finally starts to get warm, Marc and I always feel like we deserve a vacation. We would prefer to go somewhere tropical or exotic of course, but with a baby we settled for St George! We left Friday and came home Sunday. We stayed at Marc's sister's house with our fun and energetic nieces Ashlyn and Amelia. We love spending time with them because we don't get to see them that often and it's fun for Cannon to get to know his cousins. We went swimming at the Washington Recreation Center and Cannon loved it. He loved splashing and even got his whole face under the water a couple of times (by accident!) but he wasn't afraid at all, in fact we think he liked it. We also went to a family member's baptism, went shopping, out to eat and played on the red rocks. Also Saturday night after Cannon went to sleep Heidi listened for him so we could go play with our friends Cassidy and Cam. We went out to eat and then had some good laughs over at their house. I miss my friend Cass! It was such a fun trip and get away.

Easter; Ferron, UT

Not many people know where Ferron Utah is... It's about 40 minutes away from Price in Emery County. It is a very small farm town with only two fast food restaurants. My Grandpa grew up there and every Easter my family spends the holiday at my Great Grandma Eva's house where my grandpa grew up. We LOVE spending time there. There are huge dirts hills where you can four wheel, a giant fruit tree orchard to play in, lots of fields and fun things to do while you're there. This year Marc and I got there Saturday at about 3:30. We played with Cannon outside on the swing and he loved the dog Lucy and just being outside. Cannon likes to explore new places. Then Saturday night the rest of my family showed up and we all stayed up late and played games together. Then Easter Sunday we actually made it on time to go to Sacrament at the nearest ward and afterwards we had our big Easter egg hunt. I hid just three eggs filled with little baby food snacks for Cannon and then Cannon got his very first Easter basket. He liked playing with the toys and eating the snacks. The rest of the day we just hung out, ate fabulous food and played games. It was yet another fun Easter in Ferron Utah!

Friends and Fun

Last Friday was such a fun day! For lunch I got together with some of my Drill friends from high school. We ate at Zuppas and it was so much fun to play catch up with everyone. The best thing about getting together with those girls is that it seems like it hasn't been months (or even years) since we last saw each other. It's fun to see how everyone has changed and what's going on in their lives. Cannon also loved seeing the other baby girls there. He was the only boy, and there were three cute little girls. It was so much fun to get together and hopefully we'll do it again soon!

Friday night Jess and Alec invited us over to color Easter Eggs. No matter what we do with Jess and Alec we are always laughing and having fun. We had a good time with them.

Cannon's Favorite Things; 8 months old

For my first post I want to document some of Cannon's favorite things. He seems to find entertainment in the simplest things, I love it!

Bath time is Cannon's absolute favorite part of the day!

After bath time Cannon loves to dry off in his towel while unrolling all of the toilet paper...

Cannon loves his giraffe/blanket. We call him "Raffe" and Cannon can't sleep without him.

You can't tell what's going on in this picture, but Cannon loves to grab onto this tall lamp and shake it back and forth... Don't know why he loves it so much, but he does!

He loves to look at himself in the mirror. Especially when he gets to have his helmet off for an hour a day.

Alright, here comes Cannon's favorite thing to do: Hang on and bang the towel hanger against the wall. Again, we don't know why, but he gets to look at himself in the mirror while doing it and we think he thinks he's pretty cool.

Ever since Cannon was tiny he has LOVED watching a short little clip of "Twinkle Little Star" on the computer. He's always completely and utterly mesmerized by it.

When it's warm outside we play outside and Cannon loves to pull the leaves off of our bushes.

Cannon loves his Daddy. Especially when he throws him high up in the air and makes him laugh!

Last, but certainly not least; Cannon's ultimate favorite thing in this world... MOMMY! Or at least, I'd like to think that! :)

As you can see, Cannon is not exactly smiling in all of his pictures, but I assure you these are some of his favorite things. In fact we don't get an overload of smiles or laughs from Cannon, but when we do they are sincere and so precious! Cannon has quite the mellow yellow personality. He may not smile and laugh a lot, but that also means that he doesn't whine, cry, or fuss a lot either. He is a very content, easily entertained little baby boy. We LOVE him so very much!!!
